Terms

Last updated 2 October 2026

Plain terms for a small shop.

What you get

Buying a room gets you a link to it. The link is for you and the people you play with, up to six at once, on any phones or laptops. It does not expire, and there is no account to keep.

The free rooms are free to play, with nothing to buy and nothing to sign up for.

Paying

Prices are in US dollars and are shown on each room’s page before you buy. Payment is taken by Stripe, by card, Apple Pay or Link. You land on the first page as soon as the payment goes through, and the same link arrives by email.

Sharing the link

Send the link to the people you are playing with. Please do not post it, or the answers, anywhere public: a room only works while its doors are still shut for the next group.

If something does not work

The rooms are kept online and checked, but a page can still break. If one does, write to latch.keys.play@gmail.com and say what happened.

For any refund requests, write to latch.keys.play@gmail.com within 15 days of buying.

The stories

Every room is fiction. The places, people and events in it are invented, except where the room’s own page says otherwise. The stories are eerie and never cruel, and suit about twelve and up.

Who owns what

The stories, puzzles and pictures belong to Latchkeys. You are welcome to post your finisher’s card and to talk about a room; please do not copy a room’s pages or puzzles anywhere else.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms in force when you bought a room are the ones that apply to it. Nothing here takes away a right you have under the law where you live.
